Baked BBQ Chicken Wings
Author:

Ingredients
  • 1½-2 pounds chicken wingettes and drummettes (these are the small "party size" ones; do not sub with regular size wings and drumsticks as the cooking time will not be the same)
  • ½ cup good quality barbecue sauce, like Stubb's
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon lemon pepper
Instructions
  1. Add wings, sauce and spices to a large food ziplock bag. Let it marinate for 30+ minutes if possible. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with foil, place a baking rack on top. Spray well with cooking spray. Place wings on rack. Bake wings for 20 minutes, flip wings and turn up heat to 425 degrees for 20 more minutes. Remove from oven, brush with additional sauce.
Notes
If you don't have a baking rack to place on your sheet pan, you can place wings directly on the foil drizzled with a little oil. Wings will spick a little and appear burnt in places, but it's just the sauce that has caramelized. They will not taste burnt.
The baking rack is definitely easier method.
