Hi friends. Hope all you mamas had a lovely Mother’s Day. I took the kids to church and then I treated myself to a day off from cooking and cleaning. The only place I could think of that had a drive-through nearby (that wasn’t McDonalds) was Starbucks so they kiddos got egg sandwiches and I got a salad to-go. We had leftovers for dinner and they gave me sweet cards that they were so very proud of. They might drive me crazy at times, but they are truly my world. I am in awe of them and so blessed that I get to be their mommy!
This is an iPhone pic from Easter because I wasn’t able to get one yesterday.
I’ve always wanted to stay home and raise my kids. I wanted the ability to take them on play-dates in the middle of the week, volunteer at school, be there to pick them up, etc. I have the best memories of being with my mom and I wanted that for my kids. However, wanting to be there for my kids doesn’t mean I don’t want to work. I just want flexible, part-time hours. A chance to contribute to the family, yet still use my degree.
The problem is, finding the right job to be a stay-at-home mom and a work-at-home mom is always a challenge. Over the last year, as my blog has grown, I have been able to contribute a little financially and that makes me happy. I get to still be a Dietitian and do what I love. My goal for the next school year, when I have two of the four kids in school, is to do some more nutrition counseling/coaching.
For now, I am super excited to tell you about a new business opportunity I have joined, that is a perfect addition to the other jobs I have.
Ever wonder exactly what nutrition supplements you should be taking? You are not alone! When working with folks on their nutrition I always focus on their eating habits and exercise first, but I do believe in taking certain supplements. Not everything and the kitchen sink and not the same things for everybody.
So here is what I am so excited to share- IDLife, a brand new company, is the first ever to offer individually designed customized nutritional supplements based on each unique person’s life. It’s truly a one of a kind concept.
If you are puzzled over an endless vitamin section in the store, then you have to check this out.
ID Nutrition from IDLife is a personalized nutrition program designed just for you. All you have to do is take the simple yet thorough assessment (click on “take free assessment” , then enter mflinn and you’ll have to create a quick login to continue). In just a few minutes the assessment gathers info on your eating habits, where you live, hereditary conditions that may exist in your family, etc and returns a complete set of recommendations on which supplements YOU should be taking. No one size fits all supplements. Genius right?
The assessment is HIPAA compliant so be 100% truthful in your answers to get the best results.
This idea has been 17 years in the making. If you’re curious about how it got started, a pharmacist named Paul Sullivan created the concept when his daughter had leukemia. He knew she needed customized supplements based on her illness and what her body needed/lacked and supplements that would not interact with her meds. She was 7 at the time and was on a trial drug with 49 other patients. She was the only one that lived. That was 17 years ago and she is still alive. He started helping other cancer patients and had success.
What really piqued my interest is that the recommendations are based on science, not outdated government standards. It pulls in over 7,000 clinincal studies to provide you with it’s recommendations. It also takes into account any over-the-counter or prescription medications you use to help avoid known drug interactions.
Plus the assessment will tell you WHY you should take the recommended supplements and what information you answered in the assessment triggered the recommendation. This is all a free assessment. Then to make things even easier you can order the recommended vitamins/supplements and they come delivered monthly to your door. What I love about them is that they are pre-packaged which makes them easy to remember to take and super convenient- great for travel, etc. No big bottles to store.
Plus they don’t have a nasty taste like most vitamins do. They are no synthetic filler in these, all veggie based. Plus they are organic, non-GMO, vegan, gluten and casein-free and ranked 12 out of a scale of 1-12 (with 12 being the highest quality). You will actual absorb these vitamins versus some of the ones of unquestionable quality that you find at the store.
The cost will vary from person to person. Mine are a little higher than normal right now because of the demands of breastfeeding, but it still costs me less than buying a coffee a day or even an expensive protein bar.
I wanted to show one example of the recommendations I received for the Osteo Advance supplement. Since I am breastfeeding my requirements are a bit higher now….
Go learn more about your recommendations and consider signing up for the convenient monthly delivery.
If you are interested in the a business opportunity with IDLife just leave me a message or email me at melanie at nutritiouseats dot com. I can send you a packet and the business presentation to look at.
I am looking to build a team of people who are interested in selling ID Nutrition. You don’t have to have a sales background or have any special skills. The product sells itself and if you are interested in the health and wellness field this can be a great part-time opportunity.
