My oldest baby boy turned 8 over the weekend! His birthday kicks off the beginning of the birthday/holiday extravaganza over at our house where the rest of us will follow until the year comes to an end. If you've read my about page you'd know that although I am a big fan of healthy eating, sometimes I like to splurge on things I wouldn't necessarily label as "nutritious" and since the name of my blog is Nutritious Eats I have to preface things by saying this pie is not one of those "nutritious eats". Whether you're making cookies for Santa, your neighbor or to enjoy at home, December is full of baking and treats. I, like many others, love to bake and eat sweets. How do I manage to do it and not gain weight? Easy! I exercise consistently and share my goodies. I also eat healthy meals daily which helps to balance out my calories. When I followed the vegan diet for a week I was craving sweets in a bad way. I mean, I am pregnant and I need chocolate. However, I was good and avoided pretty much anything sweet until day 6 when I couldn't take it anymore.
