My New Favorite Running Accessory- Flip Belt Review & Giveaway

FlipBeltRibbet collage

Congrats to Brooke W., the winner of the Sunglasses Shop giveaway. An email has been sent to you! Do you workout with an arm band or running belt? As I started to increase my mileage at my running group I realized how much I needed one. It was getting too cumbersome to hold my iphone in hand or deal with trying to stick in between layers of clothing. The nice folks at the Flip Belt offered to send me one of their belts to try and I knew I'd like it. No zippers, no pouches, just a simple slip on belt that stretches to fit your body with a few simple slits in in to store your … [Read more...]

Sunglasses Shop Review

OakleyRibbet collage

I used to be a bargain sunglass shopper. I'd buy several inexpensive pairs because I always thought I'd lose or ruin a nice pair of designer shades. What I found though is that I took terrible care of all my other glasses because they were "cheap" and I ended up going through so many pairs each year. About 3 years ago my husband and I splurged on our first pair of designer glasses and we both still wear them, although mine are finally so scratched up that it was time for a new pair. When I was given the opportunity to try out a new pair of sunglasses from the Sunglasses Shop, I jumped at … [Read more...]

Schwan’s Home Delivery Review

schwans-2-2

When I was in graduate school in Boston back in 2000, I experimented with grocery store delivery services because I didn't have a car for the 2 years I was there and in the heart of winter I found myself unmotivated to lug groceries on the subway. I only did it a few times but boy was it convenient! I haven't thought of food delivery since then and when I was offered to try Schwan's home delivery through my FitFluential partnership of course I jumped at the chance. Any break from grocery shopping with 3 kids works for me! Schwans, the online grocery store and food delivery service started … [Read more...]

Get Fit with FitnessGlo {Review and GIVEAWAY}

FitnessGlo | www.nutritiouseats.com

I love exercising at home, mainly because it saves time and also because I can look like a crazy woman who just rolled out of bed when I workout! Ever since I had my third child, it's been much harder to manage gym outings. My kids are always with me, with the exception of my oldest son who is gone for 3 hours a day for kindergarten. The gym here offers childcare but charges $4 per hour PER child which just doesn't fit into our budget. None of this stops me from working out though. I do almost everything at home from treadmill runs, weight training to workout DVDs and when the hubs is home and … [Read more...]

Uncommon Goods: Christmas Gift Ideas & a GIVEAWAY!

Uncommon Goods

Who is in the midst of Christmas shopping? I am always on the hunt for unique gift items especially during the holidays and love sharing a few of my favorite things with you every year. Since I always have at least one of the three kids with me it makes shopping in person very difficult. Thankfully I have a nice cozy office to do my online shopping. When the folks at Uncommon Goods (a Brooklyn-based online retailer of unique gifts and creative designs) offered to send me a couple products from their kitchen/cooking section I immediately fell in love. It was my first time visiting their … [Read more...]

Outsmart Hunger #theproteineffect

Special K Cereal -1

It's fairly common knowledge these days that protein makes us feel fuller because it takes longer to digest. I know that I try my best to get some at each meal and snack or else I get hungry.  Waking up with 3 young children I am often in a mad dash for breakfast. Cereal is definitely our most popular "quick-fix" breakfast for when we are running tight on time, but it's not typically high in protein. … [Read more...]

Bob’s Red Mill Buckwheat Pesto Salad: Product Review and Giveaway!

Buckwheat Groats-1

When I think of my favorite food brands there are a few that really stand out- they're ones that I recommend over and over again.  In my opinion Bob's Red Mill is one of those brands that is one of a kind. They offer one of the largest lines of organic, whole grains in the country. I am sure you've seen some of their products in the health section of your local grocer, but if you check them out online you will see they have such a huge variety of unusual, high quality items- granola, oats, grains, beans, seeds, cereals, "baking aids" and more! I have been a long time fan so was so excited to … [Read more...]

Sun-Maid & Kashi Review: Snacks, Moving & The Weeks To Come!

RaisinsKashi-1-4

Hello friends! Here is what you've missed if you haven't visited me in a while: the movers are coming in 2 days and we should be in the car on our way to Washington on Thursday or Friday! I have a giveaway going on and it ends tomorrow at 12pm CST so don't forget to scroll down and enter! Do you remember eating boxes of raisins as a kid? I do and I rarely buy them for my kids, because well to be honest I just figured there were "cooler", more fun snacks out there. We do eat the Sun-Maid raisins out of the big container, mostly with our cereal, but not so much for snacking. So when the nice … [Read more...]

Healthy Snacks: NatureBox Review and Giveaway!

NatureBox-1-2

Wouldn't you love to have a box of healthy, delicious and different snacks delivered to your door each month? I know I get in a rut at the grocery store and often pick out the same snacks over and over again. Shopping with 3 kids doesn't allow me the time to peruse all the food labels on the new snacks, plus most of them are more processed than I'd prefer anyway. You can put an end to that problem by subscribing to a NatureBox membership. Listen to this genius idea: NatureBox is a by mail subscription service that offers you a box full of healthy snacks delivered to your door each … [Read more...]

Review: Celebrating Earth Day with CalNaturale Svelte Protein Shakes and Wine

CalNaturale Svelte Full Product Line Hi Res

It's Earth Day and what better day to introduce you to two new products I've recently tried from CalNaturale: protein shakes and wine. What do protein shakes and wine have to do with Earth Day you might ask? Well their super cool packaging offers consumers an eco-friendly option. For example, the Tetra Pak carton the wine comes in has half the carbon footprint of bottled wine. The company's mission is "to improve the health and wellness of consumers by creating the best-tasting, nourishing and convenient foods at a great value, without compromising on quality or the environment". Sounds … [Read more...]
