this slow cooker recipe couldn't be easier and will leave you with fall apart, flavorful chicken for sandwiches, tacos and more!
Ingredients
  • 4 chicken breasts (~1.75lbs)
  • ~14 ounces bottle BBQ sauce (Stubbs Original is preferred and I use ~3/4 of the 18 ounce bottle)
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
  1. Add all ingredients to slow cooker. Cook on low for 3 hours. Using two forks, shred chicken in the slow cooker. Continue to cook on low for 1 more hour.
  2. Place shredded chicken on top of bun of choice and serve with fixings: sliced onions, pickles, slaw. This mixture is also great for tacos!
Notes
Cooking times may vary depending on the strength of your slow cooker. After a couple hours the chicken should be super tender and easy to shred with forks. If it's not, continue to cook it on low. Make sure to shred the chicken prior to the end of cooking time so that all the little shreds of chicken have time to absorb some sauce before serving. I don't like to use the whole bottle when cooking because 1) there is plenty as is 2) I like to save a little leftover for topping the sandwiches or to use the next day if too much gets absorbed.
