Salt flour can last for years. I have had some flour ornaments since I was a child, so they will be at least 25 years old. He is still in very good condition and no one was upset by what happened. Salt can be left to dry flour items naturally, like air-dried clay, or to dry in the oven. When dry, salt flour becomes hard and durable, but if left untreated, it will absorb moisture and eventually rot. Before painting, take care of any baking accidents, such as cracks, filling in flour paste. You can make a little dough by adding it to water and mixing it with a plastic knife. Coat your pieces with a white base.
