Importance of Staying Hydrated

October 16, 2015 by Melanie Leave a Comment

As seasons change and temperatures fall, it’s not uncommon to return to our unhealthier behaviors. However, now is the time to work hard to keep those healthy summer behaviors going strong, like drinking more water and being more active.

Speaking of drinking water, I wanted to remind you of the basics of why it’s important to stay hydrated. For one, our bodies need water to survive. That’s kind of a big one wouldn’t you say? We need water for our cells, tissues, joints and organs to work properly, we use water to maintain our temperature and to remove waste.

I am super thankful my family’s favorite beverage is water, but from experience working with clients, there are a lot of people that do not like plain water. It’s great to have some beverage options that provide little calories and sugar, and aren’t non-nutritive drinks like diet sodas.

Ocean Spray PACt® Cranberry Extract Water | Nutritious Eats

Whenever I think of cranberry juice, I think of my mom because she has taken it for a variety of ailments. Cranberries are a superfood for sure due to their high nutrient and antioxidant content, so my interest is always piqued when I see cranberry products.

PACt® cranberry extract water is a new product from Ocean Spray that contains PACs, or proanthocyanidins – unique, powerful elements found deep inside cranberries, to help cleanse and purify your body. How do the PACs do this? By preventing harmful bacteria from sticking, allowing them to be flushed from the body.

Ocean Spray® PACt® cranberry extract water is sweetened naturally with only 10 calories per 16 ounce bottle. It has PACs (proanthocyanidins) from the juice of 50 cranberries, the same amount as in 8-ounces of cranberry juice so it’s especially a good choice for those wanting the benefits of cranberry juice without the sugar, such as Diabetics or those watching their weight.

It’s colored naturally from the cranberries…no dyes.

Ocean Spray PACt-2

The PACt® cranberry extract water has a very mild flavor, unlike the strong tart flavor of cranberry juice, and has a mild sweetness from stevia. It runs 10 calories per 16-ounce bottle and I do want to point out it contains a little sodium, 75 mg per bottle. It comes in 4 varieties- Cranberry Pomegranate, Cranberry Raspberry, Cranberry Blood Orange and Cranberry Mango- Passionfruit.

Let’s make it a year-round habit and stay hydrated #evenbetter!
