Stitch Fix Reviews 6 & 7

October 13, 2014 by Melanie 13 Comments

HI friends,

I thought I’d share my 6th and 7th Stitch Fix boxes with you today. I am thinking about turning my blog into a fashion blog.

Kidding. I just love Stitch Fix and love seeing what others get in their boxes so here we go.

It sound like everybody has jumped on the Stitch Fix bandwagon by now, but if you haven’t or don’t know about it, it’s a personal stylist subscription where they send you a box of clothing that have been hand-picked for you by your own personal stylist.  Here are all the details and link to the site (note: using my referral link will give me a $25 credit to Stitch Fix which is the same credit you’d get once you share your unique code).

Stitch Fix 6

1. Juno Small Folded Clutch

So I asked for a cross body bag but this wasn’t exactly what I had in mind. I was thinking more neutral color that I could throw on last minute when I just needed to carry my wallet and phone (as opposed to all the kids stuff in which I definitely need a bigger bag/purse). This was more for a night out on the town, but in this color I just don’t see myself using it much.

2. Esten Button-Up Sleeveless Blouse

I absolutely love this color of blue. In fact I pretty much love anything in the blue family. This blouse is great to pair with jeans, skirts, shorts or could be worn under a suit if I ever have to get that dressed up for work again. I love tops like this that carry you from summer to fall- just throw on a cardigan or blazer!

3. Leyla Mixed Print Cotton Mini Skirt

I requested a pencil skirt and this is not what I had in mind, however I loved this boho style of this skirt and it fit perfectly. The pattern is unique and I think this will look great in the summer with sandals or in the fall with boots.

4. Maya Flutter Sleeve Blouse

I love color in my clothing (although I do love a good neutral too). I thought this was really pretty when I saw it but noticed the boxy fit again. I wonder why they are not sending me any fitted clothes? Any way, I probably would’ve kept it but the arm holes were way too big (I just hate when the bra peeks through and I am not about to wear an extra layer of clothes (i.e. a tank) if I don’t have to). Then the front panel would not sit straight for some odd reason. There must have been something weird with the stitches cause it to pull one way.

5. Emer High Waisted Cropped Trouser

I requested the perfect black pants, but unfortunately these were not them. They were just this stretchy pull on pant that I could’ve found at Marshall’s for a lot less. I get that black pants are expensive- I compared JCrew, Gap and Banana Republic and they were all close to or over $100. These were $98 and just didn’t feel the quality at that price.

So 2 out of 5 for box 6!

Stitch Fix 7

1. Demi Fold Over Vegan Leather Crossbody Bag

So another try at the cross body bag, but I thought this one was a little boring. It just didn’t have anything special to it so….

2. Jordan A-line skirt

I didn’t even know A-line skirts were still popular. I liked the color and found this to be a pretty comfy skirt, however I thought it was over-priced at $68. Plus I just didn’t see myself wearing it much.

3. Clarita Floral Print Flutter Sleeve Blouse

Out of the box I thought this was cute, but the pattern looked too busy once I tried it on, plus it was too big and boxy. I love flawy clothes but don’t want every top I own to be flowy. I do have a figure ya know?

4. Avondale Textured Dot Split Neck Blouse

Bad, just bad. See-through, off white polyester? No thank you! I think I know why they sent it, because I was heading to the conference and I mentioned that, but my stylist changed and I think she read that as “dress me in boring business clothes”. This might be my least favorite item I’ve received. Oh well, it happens. I still love ya SF.

5. Lyra 3/4 Sleeve Abstract Chevron Dress

Out of the box I wasn’t completely in love, but once I tried it on I found out just how comfortable it was! Then I belted and really loved it. I wore this to the International Food Blogging Conference on the first day which was really just a reception. It was perfect!

So 1 out 5 for box 7. Not great, but good for my budget so I was fine with it!

Questions:  Have you tried Stitch Fix yet? How are your Stitch Fix boxes going?

I love the chevron dress and the tank top with the skirt! I’d love to try Stitch Fix, but it’s not offered in Canada.

Well thanks, I guess it was more an issue of the large arm holes and off center stitching. Of course I always want it to work out, but my wallet is happier 🙂

Hi friend! Just popping in to say that outfit was made for you – the one you kept. I agree with your returns, except for the brown leather bag – I think “boring” is sometimes good for a bag?

Waiting for my 2nd Stitch Fix and I got that blue blouse (in purple) and the black pants last time. I kept both (I really do love the pants). I LOVE that pencil skirt! Not really “me” but so stinking cute on you! (I wish it was me but don’t think I could pull it off). Thanks for sharing!!

I did like the black pants, just couldn’t afford them! Even when they get it wrong, I still love them.
