The Truth Comes Out

April 7, 2011 by Melanie 3 Comments

I’ve mentioned I’ve been busy over the past few weeks/months- gearing up to move across the Pacific ocean was exhausting and now awaiting our departure date from my family’s house in Texas to our new home in Missouri is exciting, but there has been a lot going on! Truth of the matter, we have one more event that has added to the excitement, stress and exhaustion that we’ve been experiencing….we’re expecting baby #3!! My 4 year old drew this precious family photo for Daddy to break the news to him. L didn’t even notice I added in our soon-to-be new addition, but Daddy did….after a he took the time to admire the great stick figures L drew. Once we were ready to share the news with the kids, we told our son he could announce it to the family once we arrived in Texas. He did a great job sharing the great news!

Packing/moving in the early stages of pregnancy is not exactly desirable, but in the end, the timing was perfect for us. I can be honest now and say that blogging about food has been dreadful. I don’t remember having the strong food aversions with my first two pregnancies, but I’ve had a hard time thinking about cooking, much less being able to walk into a grocery store to shop. I can handle restaurant food or if someone else cooks for me. A lot of things sound great and a lot of things don’t. The worst part is not enjoying reading, talking or brainstorming recipes like I usual. Thankfully the symptoms are starting to let up a bit and I am sure I will be back to my old self once I hit the second trimester in about a week or two.

For now, there might be a lot of posts about Mexican food, cookies, bowls of cereal, fruit salad and other foods that don’t make me sick. 🙂
